Our professional kitchen staff’s mission is to bring farm fresh vegetables, meats and cheeses from our local farmer’s market and regional producers, and seafood fresh from the Atlantic Ocean, together on our ever changing menu to each and every one of our guests for family gatherings, anniversaries, festivities, and everyday meals. Executive Chef Zach VanGaasbeek, our award winning Iron Chef, selects only the best of the best (see picture); either locally grown in the Triangle region or North Carolina raised and especially prepared for our guest’s occasions, business meetings and dinner enjoyment. Spring and early summer are the perfect times of year to stop in for a cold drink, a glass of fine wine, and a stress reducing appetizer after work.

We love families here in Raleigh too, and our Tavoli di Amici, served around the table family style, is an Italian tradition and part of our growing success here at Mia Francesca Trattoria. Our delicious pasta and sauces are very specially made, fresh from scratch and filled with flavor.

Our guests love our delicious homemade pastas seven days a week:

  • Fettuccine paired with peas, prosciutto di parma, wild mushrooms, pea shoots, shaved parmigiano reggiano
  • Linguini in an enticing dish fresh del Mare, from the sea, with Sea Scallops, gulf shrimp, mussels, spicy marinara, and olive oil
  • Penne combined with farm fresh vegetables and goat cheese, or with Gulf shrimp
  • Spaghetti served with traditional meatballs or with beef, veal, and pork in a tomato basil sauce
  • Cappellaci, a dumpling pasta stuffed with fresh lobster, spring peas, and baby spinach

Our Mother’s Day Brunch begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. with a full buffet brunch; featured among the many considerations:

  • Fresh, crisp salads made from local North Carolina ingredients
  • Mixed seasonal vegetables from the local area farmer’s markets
  • Mouthwatering Vanilla Bean French Toast

Our complete Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet is only $39.95 for adults, $34 for seniors 65 and older, and $16 for children under twelve. Kids under 5 are always invited to eat for free. We make all of our pasta and sauces in house, from scratch under the supervision of our Executive Chef Zach VanGaasbeek and his talented kitchen staff. Christmas is fast approaching and many of us are looking forward to New Year’s Eve as well and the year-end festivities. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of 2014, and beginning 2015. With so many plans, reflections, and resolutions to make, December 31 is a day filled with great new feelings, awesome food, fun conversation, and dinner. Mia Francesca offers our delightful, relaxing New Year’s Eve dinner just for two or for the crowd you love to be around to celebrate 2015.

At Mia Francesca Trattoria, our authentic Northern Italian cuisine offers the freshest farm and sea to table experience in the Triangle. Located at North Hills in Midtown Raleigh (exit 8 440 the Beltline), our rustic Italian restaurant allows guests to savor the traditions of the Tuscany region of Italy without having to travel abroad. July is National Culinary Arts Month!

Our award winning culinary chefs and kitchen staff at Mia Francesca Trattoria consistently serves the most delectable and eye-catching Italian cuisine in Raleigh and the Triangle. Alongside shopping, salons, theatres, and more at North Hills, our Northern Italian restaurant is located in Midtown Raleigh, the heart of the Central Carolina region. July is the month all of us can observe and appreciate the beauty of how Italian food brings friends, family, and coworkers together.

As thousands of people watch the Food Network and other related cable channels, they are learning about fine cooking and dining from a growing number of these television programs; in just the past few years, there has been a boom in appreciation of the culinary arts. Executive Chef Zack and his professional kitchen staff skillfully prepare meals that are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the eye.

For example, our very popular Meat and Cheese Board appetizer has Chef Zack’s selection of artisan cheese and charcuterie, olives, fruit jam, and ciabatta crostini. With our scrumptious main courses, our guests have wide variety of savory choices, including our Lobster Cappellacci, which is Maine lobster filled with fresh pasta, spring peas, baby spinach, tarragon, and a delicious lobster cream sauce. Another excellent choice is our Fussilli con Pesto or corkscrew shaped pasta, basil pesto, fresh string beans, fresh mozzarella, and pine nuts. Mia Francesca is known for its authentic Tuscany Italian pizza like the Napoletana, which has fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, provolone, and shaved Parmesan. This choice is one of the favorites in our lounge and bar area.

Finish every meal with one of our Dessert Platters, featuring assorted chef’s selections designed for sharing among and larger groups. Our Duo of Cannolis could be on the platter, and our cannolis come with a pistachio ricotta filling, chocolate chips, pistachio orange brittle, and a peanut butter mousse filling candied peanuts, and raspberry agrodolce. Be sure to end your Northern Italian experience with one of our many Italian Illy Coffee choices like Cappuccino, Espresso, Caramel Macchiato, and Mocha-cino.

Cheers to National Martini Day in the Triangle!

KEKO64 MartiniIt is hot and balmy this week and it is the perfect time for the perfect drink. Did you know that National Martini Day is Thursday June 19? At Mia Francesca Trattoria, the Northern Italian restaurant of choice in the Triangle, we aim to please with our delicious and relaxing martini selections.

In recent history, some of the most famous martini lovers include John D. Rockefeller, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Frank Sinatra. The fictional British Secret Service Agent James Bond, 007 himself, always asked for his martinis to be “shaken, not stirred”—an enduring movie catch phrase. Interestingly enough, for good health, a shaken martini produces significantly higher antioxidant properties than a stirred one!

In 1863, an Italian vermouth maker started marketing their product under the brand name of Martini. This product is still available today, but better known as Martini & Rossi. We believe the most expensive martini is at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City. It costs a cool $10,000! The garnish is a beautiful and very radiant cut diamond! It is certainly true in this case; a diamond might indeed be a martini lover’s best friend.

A well-made martini is a cocktail made with gin (vodka can be substituted), vermouth, and garnished with an olive or lemon twist. Over the years, the martini has become one of the best-known mixed alcoholic beverages that we serve here in the Triangle. For example, our very popular Pear Tree Martini features Absolut Pear, St. Germaine, and lemon-lime juice that is served straight-up!

Martinis pair very well with our cheeses, breads and meats. Our garlic toast, Bruschetta alla Romana, features marinated tomatoes, mozzarella, and olive oil. It is a perfect choice with your cool drink selection. Another favorite is our Meat and Cheese Board, Chef Zack’s selection of artisan cheese and charcuterie, olives, fruit jam, and ciabatta crostini.

As we quickly head to July, we picture our guests sitting comfortably in our expansive outside patio as the sun sets on a warm summer night. In fact, many of our guests will stop and say that the perfect pairing for one of our delectable martinis is another. Who are we to argue? Our bartenders can create the martini of choice, from the Dirty, to the Gibson, to the Bone Dry. It simple is a matter of personal taste.

Our authentic Tuscany Northern Italian cuisine is a pleasure to enjoy with warm summer breezes. This is why our guests love both the experience and the location.
