Celebrate New Years Eve in Midtown Raleigh

Monday, December 22nd, 2014

new year clock DT 43053064

The Holiday Season is the most wonderful time of the year for family and for friends. Christmas is fast approaching and many of us are looking forward to New Year’s Eve as well and the year-end festivities. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of 2014, and beginning 2015. With so many plans, reflections, and resolutions to make, December 31 is a day filled with great new feelings, awesome food, fun conversation, and dinner. Mia Francesca offers our delightful, relaxing New Year’s Eve dinner just for two or for the crowd you love to be around to celebrate 2015.

At Mia Francesca Trattoria, our authentic Northern Italian cuisine offers the freshest farm and sea to table experience in the Triangle. Located at North Hills in Midtown Raleigh (exit 8 440 the Beltline), our rustic Italian restaurant allows guests to savor the traditions of the Tuscany region of Italy without having to travel abroad. We invite our holiday guests to enjoy our New Year’s Eve festivities and start the New Year right!

We recommend kicking the afternoon and evening off with one of our delicious appetizers. When New Year’s Eve guests ask for our fresh Prince Edward Island Mussels, they have the option of having them served with garlic and a spicy marinara sauce or with a garlic white wine sauce. Either way, they are a Raleigh favorite!

For the main course this New Year’s Eve night, we have many delicious items on our dinner menu. One local favorite is our Filetto e Polenta Fritto. This dish includes our savory grilled beef tenderloin, sage brown butter polenta cakes (an Italian delicacy), sautéed winter squash, charred onions, and herb butter.

As the countdown on the clock continues to midnight, try our Apple Crostata dessert featuring local farm fresh Granny Smith apples in a flaky pastry crust. We serve this warm with salted caramel gelato and vanilla crème anglaise. Sip our wonderful Illy brand coffee choices including Cappuccino, Espresso, Espresso Macchiato, Caramel Macchiato, and Mocha-cino.

As Father Time’s hourglass runs out of 2014 sand, it is out with the old and in with the new. Make your New Year’s resolution to dine more often at Mia Francesca Trattoria. And say cheers to more treasured memories with loved ones, at the best restaurant in the Triangle. Make your New Year’s reservations today!

Please consider joining us for Christmas Eve as well. Here is an offering of our menu on December 24th.

It’s August in the Triangle and the North Carolina Corn is Simply Amazing

Monday, August 4th, 2014

corn keerati fdpOur Northern Italian cuisine at Mia Francesca Trattoria serves fresh locally grown corn in a variety of delectable ways. Executive Chef Zack VanGaasbeek presents a wonderfully unique summer corn pizza as well as a palate pleasing pasta dish featuring the sweetest corn found in the Triangle. We are conveniently located at the North Hills exit 8 just north of the 440 Beltline in the heart of Mid-Town Raleigh. Our classically trained professional kitchen team creatively prepares a wide variety of incredibly delicious appetizers and entrees using farm fresh ingredients like our locally grown corn.

Wine and Italian fare go hand-in-hand with our outstanding corn dishes; Mia Francesca Trattoria offers these fine wine pairing suggestions.

Our oaky Chardonnay wine pairs well with all our corn dishes:

  • Trion 2010, Russian River, CA
  • Chamisal 2011, Central Coast, CA
  • Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse 2011, Burgundy, France

To start any warm and breezy August night out, Mia Francesca Trattoria has three outstanding corn appetizers on our menu. The Mais Risotto features savory Arborio rice, fresh corn, and roasted bell peppers with lemon, garlic, and basil. The Mais Bruschetta offers crunchy garlic toast, sweet corn, fresh goat cheese, roasted bell peppers, crispy Guanciale, and arugula. Our Fried Corn is au natural locally grown corn with Parmigiano, espellette, and truffle oil.

After enjoying our tempting summer seasonals as farm to table appetizers, try our new Summer Corn Pizza with garden fresh summer corn, Applewood smoked bacon, wild mushrooms, garlic, and mozzarella. If you are in the mood for unique pasta, our Fettuccine con Mais features fresh fettuccine, local sweet corn, Prosciutto di Parma, mushrooms, cracked black pepper, and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. With either summer dish, our guests enjoy the taste experience.

Staying with the theme of sweetness and our scrumptious desserts, we recommend our Torta Bacio, a chocolate hazelnut mousse with cocoa nibs and chocolate crunch. To go with the dessert, try drinking one of our Italian Illy brand coffees including: Cappuccino, Espresso, Espresso Macchiato, Mocha-cino, and Café Latte. July is National Culinary Arts Month!

Monday, July 14th, 2014

Mia PieCenturies ago, food used to be what people needed to survive. Over the recent decades, food has appreciated into an art driven by both looks and taste. Our award winning culinary chefs and kitchen staff at Mia Francesca Trattoria consistently serves the most delectable and eye-catching Italian cuisine in Raleigh and the Triangle. Alongside shopping, salons, theatres, and more at North Hills, our Northern Italian restaurant is located in Midtown Raleigh, the heart of the Central Carolina region. As thousands of people watch the Food Network and other related cable channels, they are learning about fine cooking and dining from a growing number of these television programs; in just the past few years, there has been a boom in appreciation of the culinary arts. Executive Chef Zack and his professional kitchen staff skillfully prepare meals that are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the eye.

For example, our very popular Meat and Cheese Board appetizer has Chef Zack’s selection of artisan cheese and charcuterie, olives, fruit jam, and ciabatta crostini. With our scrumptious main courses, our guests have wide variety of savory choices, including our Lobster Cappellacci, which is Maine lobster filled with fresh pasta, spring peas, baby spinach, tarragon, and a delicious lobster cream sauce. Another excellent choice is our Fussilli con Pesto or corkscrew shaped pasta, basil pesto, fresh string beans, fresh mozzarella, and pine nuts. Mia Francesca is known for its authentic Tuscany Italian pizza like the Napoletana, which has fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, provolone, and shaved Parmesan. This choice is one of the favorites in our lounge and bar area.

Finish every meal with one of our Dessert Platters, featuring assorted chef’s selections designed for sharing among and larger groups. Our Duo of Cannolis could be on the platter, and our cannolis come with a pistachio ricotta filling, chocolate chips, pistachio orange brittle, and a peanut butter mousse filling candied peanuts, and raspberry agrodolce.
