The Best Pizza in the Triangle is Closer than You Think

Monday, February 23rd, 2015

Mia F PizzaBalancing the harmony of cheeses and flavor creates traditional pizza that makes the difference. And Mia Francesca Trattoria, the Northern-Italian restaurant located in Raleigh, makes it like it’s been delivered straight from Mother Italy. Our location for Tuscany Italian fare and great pizza is just 20 minutes from most everywhere in the Triangle, in North Hills off 440. Pizza lovers who are always on the lookout for some of the best pizza in the Triangle choose Mia Francesca for traditional pizza pie with generous toppings.

We stay true to our Northern Italian roots in every slice as we assemble the ingredients in our award winning kitchen. Our Executive Chef and his team simply prepare our house made pizza as a truly decadent creation that puts a huge smile on every guest.

Originally cooked in Naples, Italy, today’s Mia Francesca pizza evolved from historic flat bread dishes first baked back in the 1800’s. It is interesting to note that pizza became very popular shortly after World War II, as veterans stationed in Italy returned home to the U.S.A. introducing their hometowns to this new found Italian delight! Now, in 2015, pizza is so popular, that on any given day in the United States, 13 % of the population consumes it.

Mia Francesca pizza has everyone’s seal of approval, and it comes complete with a scrumptious crust, blankets of fresh melted cheese, and house-made dough created in small batches; each pizza is fully loaded with homemade tomato sauce, meats, and vegetables. All meld together to make personal pizza history for each and every table.

Mia Francesca Trattoria offers a variety of high-quality pizzas beloved by every guest:

  • Our Diavola Pizza features eggplant, castelvetrano olives, capers, chilies, tomato sauce, and smoked mozzarella.
  • Our Fungi pizza has wild mushrooms, ricotta cheese, thyme, arugula, and truffle oil.
  • Our Margherita features plum tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella.
  • Our Napoletana has arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, provolone, and shaved Parmesan.
  • Our Quattro Stagioni features prosciutto, artichoke, mushrooms, olive, and egg.
  • Our Salsiccia Pizza comes with juicy fennel sausage, sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, and fresh mozzarella.

For our guests who simply cannot decide from all the wonderful selections, it is perfectly okay to order a personal creation with any and every fresh ingredient available. Toppings include sausage, olives, mushrooms, artichoke, spinach, meatballs, onion, broccoli, anchovy, goat cheese, gorgonzola, mozzarella, Swiss, Fontina, roasted peppers, and eggplant.

The best pizza in the Triangle is closer than anyone thinks. The choices offered by Mia Francesca continue the tradition only found in Midtown Raleigh. The good times are right here in North Hills.

The Reviews are in from the Raleigh Trip Advisor

Mia Francesca profiterolesMia Francesca asparagusMia Francesca Trattoria, located at North Hills in Midtown Raleigh, would like to highlight a recent Trip Advisor review from Senior Reviewer Dave K from Raleigh. Dave titled his review, Fresh and high quality ingredients with excellent preparation.” As a participating restaurant in the Got to Be NC agriculture program, Mia Francesca offers the freshest of ingredients. We indeed are a farm fresh to table restaurant that everyone loves and enjoys.

“For starters, don’t overlook the salads. The lentils with goat cheese and the fresh asparagus are excellent.” Dave loves the Lentils and Spinaci, which feature warm lentils with spinach and goat cheese, as well as our Asparagi Insalata with fresh asparagus, blue cheese, and tomato. “For appetizers, the calamari is a very nice portion with tasty sauces.” Dave enjoys our very popular Calamari Fritti, which is lightly fried in a spicy marinara sauce.

“For pasta… the Spaghetti Bolognese might be standard fare for many, however, Mia Francesca kicks it up with pulled pork. It is very smooth and tasty: a winner every time.” Dave knows our North Carolina inspired Spaghetti alla Bolognese is loaded with beef, veal, pork, fresh herbs, and tomato basil sauce topped with Parmigiano Reggiano.

“If you have any room left, the profiteroles are outstanding with pistachio gelato. You won’t find this in many places in Raleigh.” Our Profiteroles are delicate cream puffs toasted and filled with pistachio gelato and topped with a divinely homemade chocolate sauce. This is one of just many decadent choices from our Dessert (Dolci) menu.

“For beverages, if you are a wine drinker, try the…Pinot Grigio.” By the glass, two excellent Pinot Grigio options are Le Macine and Ca’ Stella Veneto. By the bottle, two very popular Pinot Grigio choices this time of year are Dantello and Baroncini Veneto.

Thank you, Dave K, for letting us share your review and recommendation with our blog post audience. It is the holiday season and we bring North Carolina and Tuscany Region in Central Italy together for you each and every day!

Remember it is the holiday season and Mia Francesca Trattoria can host your office party, dinner party or holiday get together. Call us today and make your reservation.
